Antonio Parkinson is a Democratic candidate seeking election to the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 98. A retired Lieutenant with the Shelby County Fire Department and a former U.S. Marine, Parkinson brings a background in public service and emergency response to his legislative campaign. He has served as a state representative from the 107th through the 113th General Assemblies, establishing a long tenure in Nashville. During his time in office, Parkinson has held significant leadership roles, including Chair of the Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators and Vice Chairman of the Democratic Caucus. His committee assignments include Finance, Ways, and Means; Education Administration; and Civil Justice, with additional service on subcommittees for civil justice and higher education during the first extraordinary session. Parkinson’s community involvement is extensive, reflecting a focus on local development and civic engagement. He founded ABetterMemphis.Com and the Fresh Starts Community Baby Shower Initiative to address infant mortality rates in Shelby County. Additionally, he has organized The Block Party for Peace and served as former chair of the Memphis & Shelby County Music Commission. His professional background also includes founding Black Market Strategies and holding leadership positions within the Frayser Exchange Club, Raleigh Community Council, and the Voice of Raleigh and Frayser Community Action Network.
