Kevin Vaughan is a Republican candidate seeking election to the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 95. An engineer and real estate developer by profession, Vaughan holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Memphis State University, completed in 1984. He is married with two children and has served as a state representative since the 110th General Assembly, currently sitting in his fourth consecutive term through the 113th session. Vaughan’s legislative record includes leadership roles within the Tennessee General Assembly. He serves as Chair of the Commerce Committee and its corresponding Extraordinary Session committee, while also holding membership on the Calendar & Rules Committee, the Health Committee, and subcommittees for Banking & Consumer Affairs and Business & Utilities. His professional background in engineering and real estate development informs his policy focus, which aligns with his committee assignments overseeing commerce and business regulations. Beyond his legislative duties, Vaughan has been active in local governance and civic organizations. He served on the Collierville Schools Board of Education from 2013 to 2019 and holds board positions with the Collierville Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. His community involvement extends to the Lambda Alpha International engineering honor society and the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. Vaughan has received recognition for his professional and public service contributions, including the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Memphis Herff College of Engineering, a Hospital Hero Award from the Tennessee Hospital Association, and Legislator of the Year honors from the Memphis Area Association of Governments in 2018.
